About Us

Carolina Born & Raised

Founded in 2015 by two Rowan County natives, Carolina Malt House began as a gently sloping cattle pasture within the humble agricultural community of Cleveland, NC. Since hitting the market in 2018 with one 20-ton production line, we have grown to be one of, if not the, largest malt houses in the southeastern United States.

 

We now operate three 20-ton GKV's (Germination-Kilning Vessels) and service over 180 craft brewing and distilling customers in our region, all while sourcing the vast majority of our grain from small farms within 10 miles of our facility. All of our growers use no-till farming techniques and  employ strategic crop rotation practices.

Our Mission

Our goal is to provide our region's craft beverage producers with the highest quality malted grains sourced from our unique microclimate in central North Carolina.

 

We strive to change the status quo of where craft breweries and distilleries source their malt by providing the consistency of macro-malt houses while having the creativity, attention to detail and personal touch of a small, local supplier.
